Claire Rafferty's Manifesto

Hi, I’m Claire Rafferty, your Student President.

I’ve had a fantastic time at UWIC this year working as your Student President - representing your views. 

I thought you would like a reminder why you voted for me last year and update you on our achievements.

Successes update:

1. A campaign to refurbish social facilities at the Llandaff campuses.
   ‘A newly refurbished campus centre at Llandaff is scheduled to open September   2010’  [C. Rafferty]
2. Improving Intramural sports—community recreational and local league sports.
   ‘Secured Funding for intramural sports for non-elite students’ [C. Rafferty]
3. Raise UWIC’s profile with universities abroad with a view to increasing opportunities  to study abroad.
   ‘Established a link with our collaborative universities, to start student ex change programmes’ [C.Rafferty]

What I aim to do this year:

1. Deliver a training and Development Programme
   
2. Campaign to have all courses accredited with qualifications
   
3. Deliver a sports and recreational programme for all students on each campus.
   
4. Improve the representation links, so the student voice gets heard across UWIC.
   
5. Provide and deliver a social space for international students.
