This morning, the Western Mail reported that Cardiff Met have unveiled plans for an exciting new campus which will become Cardiff Met's School of Media & Communications.

The new campus and accomodation complex in Cardiff is being planned as a joint project between Cardiff Met and Phoenix TV, a Chinese media company. This exciting new project will result in not only a signifigant boost for the university but for the economy of the Cardiff City region as a whole.

Sean Barry, the Western Mail business editor summarised the plans by saying that 'credit must go to Cardiff Metropolitan University for securing the backing of Phoenix, via its Beijing office, in an investment that more than justifies its stance to remain independent and rejecting the three-way merger with the universities of Newport and South Wales.'

This announcement comes following the succesful relocation and opening of the brand new Cardiff School of Art & Design and the Cardiff School of Management (pictured above) from Howard Gardens and Colchester Avenue in recent years.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Cardiff Met, City of Cardiff Council and Phoenix TV will be signed this afternoon at Mansion House in Cardiff.
