Football - Men


The club fees are for the 2023/24 academic year. Fees are set by the club and are subject to change the following academic year.

Club Background

The Cardiff Met Men's Football Club is the largest in terms of both the number of teams and members they boast. There are six Cardiff based teams who compete in the BUCS competitions.

In addition to the busy BUCS season, Cardiff Met Men’s Football has one of the strongest club structures in Welsh Football with two men’s teams, a youth team and 16 academy teams run from U7-U19.

The club currently play in the Cymru Premier and are looking forward to playing in their eighth season in the Welsh Top Flight. The squad also play in the BUCS league - BUCS Western Tier 1. The club have won the BUCS National Championships for the twice in in their history in 2016/2017 and 2017/2018.

The reserve side (2nd team) were champions of The Welsh Football League Reserve East Division in the past two seasons; they also compete in BUCS Western 1A and are ranked as the best 2nd team in the UK. 

The Youth team (U19s) play in the Cymru Premier Development League with players playing from the Academy set-up and the University set-up.

The Men's Football Club is one of the Cardiff Met Focus Sports who have been identified as a high performance club and under the guidance of the Performance Director aim to achieve the very highest standards. Focus Sports benefit from additional funding which includes a number of funded gym memberships and access to all sports facilities for focus athletes, strength and conditioning, nutritional support and physiotherapy. The club also receives Performance Analysis, which comprises of training and match day filming for coaches’ and players alike.

1st Team:

  • Reached Europa League Qualification round 2018/19.
  • Nathaniel MG Winners 2018/19
  • BUCS National Champions 2016/17 and 2017/18
  • Welsh Division One Champions 2015/16
  • BUCS National Semi-finalists 2015/16

2nd Team:

  • Welsh Reserve Division East Champions 12/13, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17, 17/18, 18/19 and 22/23.
  • BUCS Western 2B Champions 22/23.

3rd Team:

4th Team:

Football Academy

Cardiff Met’s Junior Football programme boasts one of the largest, comprehensive and credible football programmes in South Wales. We operate as a Category B Academy in line with the FAW licenced and accredited academies who will play in the FAW Academy Games Programme.

Our club philosophy is delivered by coaches who study within the university and players who represent Cardiff Met FC in the Cymru Premier. All of our coaches are DBS checked, suitably qualified and have advanced academic and theoretical knowledge.

Your details will be used to effectively manage your membership and communicate relevant club, fixture, social event information to you.
