FAQ's for Current Students 




We wanted to get in touch and share with you some important information regarding our operations and activities at this moment. We are aware that this isn’t an easy time for anyone, and we are here to support you throughout.

Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to keep your health and wellbeing in mind whilst following Government, University and Public Health Wales guidance.

We would like to remind all students that the Sabbatical Officers along with the Rep team will still be working to ensure that you get the best student experience possible, during this difficult time. Help us to help you by staying in touch and reaching out if you need answers, we will do our very best in the current circumstances. We understand there is a lot of uncertainty for everyone, and we will continue to put the student voice first.

Llandaff and Cyncoed SU facilities
Our offices will be closed from Friday 20th March, with our staff working remotely. If you need to contact the SU, then you can contact us by email on and a member of the team will get back to you.

If you are usually in regular contact with certain staff members, all of our staff will still be available via their usual emails too! As of Friday 20th March, Centro and Zen will be closed. This includes the shop, bar and food outlet on Llandaff campus. However, our shop on Cyncoed campus will be open until Friday 27th March to cater for residential students.

Advice and Support
The advice and support service will still be functioning, however there will be a change in the way we deliver this service due to staff members working remotely. Face to face drop-in and bookable appointments will no longer be available for students during this time. Any queries should be directed to

Societies and Sport
In line with the government advice to increase social distancing and avoid mass gatherings, we are suspending all sports and societies to activity until further notice. Furthermore, the university has made the decision to close all sports facilities on both campuses will be closed as of Wednesday 18th March. This includes all club training and gym facilities.

All minibuses will not be available to hire during this time as we do not want to encourage any non-essential travel. If you think your booking will be affected then please contact

Cardiff Met Award
All future workshops are postponed. All current Met Award students will be contacted regarding the status of their award.

In agreement with SU Bath, Varsity 2020 has been postponed until 2021. Refunds will be processed in the next few weeks and the money will return to the card that you paid with via the SU website. Regarding Sports Awards, Student Achievement Awards and our UV neon party, we are closely monitoring the situation and will provide an update in line with government/university advice.

Venue hire
