Coronavirus Covid-19 Information & Updates

September 1st update

When you arrive in September the SU will be doing everything it can to make the most of your student experience and to keep you as safe as possible. What is clear is that life on campus and in the City is going to be different and we in the SU have had to make adjustments to our operations and services so that they can operate in a safe way both for you and our staff.

If you'd like to get in touch with us, all enquiries should be sent to

Our Freshers Fayre is going to be a virtual event this year but it will be a great opportunity for you to find out about everything we do and offer and it includes some great deals and offers from the external companies that we work with. It will give you links to our sports clubs and societies and we will be supporting both to continue to provide you with opportunities to get involved in life at Cardiff Met.

SU Offices

We’re committed to keeping our offices on both sites staffed as much as we can and whilst we’ll still have to maintain social distancing, you will be able to get advice or help from us. However where its possible please either telephone or email. One way or another we can support you whether thats virtually or in person.

All our commercial operations are going to operate on a cashless basis and in our Centro and Zen operations you can order your meals and drinks via a Yoello QR code and we’ll deliver it to your table. To ensure we maintain social distancing in the venues we have changed the layout, which means the capacity will be limited and at certain times it might mean that we might have to restrict entry. Our retail shops will have a different layout, one way systems and limited numbers at any one time.

The SU venues will still be a great way to meet other students and socialise safely on campus and we’ll do what we can to give you as ‘normal’ a student experience as we can. Both our Starbucks will be open but for the time being they will operate as takeaway only.

Whether you are living in Halls or in the local community be aware of your personal responsibility to yourself and your neighbours, follow social distancing rules wherever you can and continue to follow all the hygiene rules wherever you go.
