Internship Placement

Based on the Ty Verlon Estate in Barry, Roperhurst is offering a 3 month internship placement to a final year student or recent graduate

Established in 1976, Roperhurst is one of the UK’s leading bespoke plastic fabricators.  Roperhurst fabricates and install tanks and piping systems, ductwork systems, machine guards and covers, and provides specialist inspection repost on extraction systems, pipework and storage tanks.  Further information is available at www.roperhurst.com

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

You will join the existing technical team, which is responsible for all aspects of Roperhurst’s major installation and technical projects, including:

  • Analysis of major project tender enquiries, take-off of requirements and pricing thereof
  • Day-to-day project management, including dealing with issues and queries reported back by our site teams, and development of fabrication drawings using Autocad for production by our factory
  • Identifying suppliers and sourcing of materials for specific projects
  • Site visits to assist with technical issues such as ductwork leakage testing, local exhaust ventilation commissioning and testing, and other assurance inspections

Education and Experience

Either an engineering or similarly technical degree or equivalent, or education to A-level standard with a number of years’ engineering experience

Computer skills and knowledge of software packages including Excel, Word and Autocad

Awareness of Local Exhaust Ventilation, and ductwork systems would be an advantage.  Further information can be found at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/hsg258.htm

Salary and benefits

This is a full-time position, working 8:00-17:00 Mon-Thurs and 8:00-14:00 on a Friday, plus any additional hours as necessary for proper performance of your duties.
