To represent Personal Best Education (Mountbatten School Services Ltd) in a positive manner and to treat all visitors and clients with respect, courtesy, and consideration, to ensure that every effort is made to satisfy reasonable requirements and assist in maintaining a welcoming organisation.

To carry out duties correctly and promptly in a good working atmosphere and to assist in the creation of a safer environment by adhering to Health and Safety Regulations and agreed Codes of Practice for all employees. An induction training weekend will be compulsory as part of your continuous professional development (CPD).

Phrase 1 - Away Residential - Young people travel outside of Hampshire to take part in a various outdoor adventurous activities such as surfing, coasteering and mountain boarding. The emphasis is on challenging the young person physically and mentally; breaking down barriers, overcoming fears and forming new relationships are a few examples.
Phrase 2 - Home Residential - Based within Hampshire, young people partake in various workshops which aim to give understanding of how local companies and organisation function. Each workshop has a theoretical and physical element which will up skill the young people with various life skills.
Phrase 3 - Social Action - Working from a hub site close to their home, young people are tasked with producing a social action project from start to finish. Assigning job roles, contacting charities and hosting an event are just some of the tasks in the final phrase. Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.

To work co-operatively with others towards shared goals.

To support the induction of new members of the team and contribute to the development of other staff through sharing knowledge and providing system training where necessary.


JOB PURPOSE

To supervise, support and mentor a group of young people through the four week National Citizen Service Programme.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage a group of 12-15, young people aged 16 to 17 years old with a fellow leader
Provide bonding and ice breaker activities to encourage group cohesion
Be aware of safeguarding issues and have knowledge of incident/accident reporting procedures
Discuss any issues with senior leaders/co-ordinators
Be responsible for head counts and keeping registers
Ensure the young people adhere to the timetable – activities/workshops/meal times
Support the young people during their activities and workshops
Encourage, Participate and Encourage young people through all aspects of the programme
Oversee the travel and sleeping arrangements
Develop and maintain a professional relationship with fellow colleagues and young people
