**Volunteering or working overseas can be an exciting opportunity. However it is up to you to do your research to make sure the experience suits you. You must ensure you ask plenty of questions and know exactly what you are sign up for. You should ensure that you have the correct vaccines, insurance and have appropriate training before starting. If there are attached costs, you should also ask for a breakdown of costs and be sure you are happy with what your money goes towards. You should check Foreign Office travel advice before you set off to the country you are travelling to.You should also get everything in writing before you head off.

Please read our advice document with further information: what questions to ask before accepting an overseas role’ **
