Details

Our Trainee Surveyor Scheme

You’ll have real responsibility from day one; your time will be split between on the job training and working on live projects. You’ll learn all the skills you’ll need for a bright future in our growing business from our experienced Surveyors and Business Managers.

Visiting properties and sites to establish painting, maintenance, repair and refurbishment needs, you’ll learn to estimate costs. You’ll liaise with our trade teams, subcontractors and suppliers to manage projects to maximise customer satisfaction and profit.  As your training progresses, you will be involved in tendering and winning new work and managing relationships with our key clients.

The role will be challenging but you’ll receive all the support you need to be successful. This includes the opportunity to be seconded in your second year of the programme, giving you the chance to broaden and deepen your experience within Ian Williams Ltd.

You will join our other Trainees in attending our structured modular training programme delivered by our own training academy, and depending on your experience could also achieve further professional qualifications externally.

On completion of your training scheme you’ll be appointed as a fully-fledged Surveyor, in addition, we are proud to say that many of our trainees have progressed to management roles following their training.

As a minimum you will need to be educated to at least A-level standard, or equivalent, and have achieved grades A to C.

Although not essential to your application, a surveying related qualification will be advantageous, such as an HNC or degree.
