Website & Communications Coordinator
Cardiff Met Students’ Union are looking for a creative and dynamic communications coordinator to manage and develop our media services with a focus on coordinating the content and design of our website.
The ideal candidate will have experience of both HTML and CSS as well as an interest in media and communications.
Cardiff Met Students’ Union represents, supports, inspires and offers services to every student at Cardiff Met. Your role will be focused on raising the profile of all operations and services provided by the Students’ Union.
Main Duties
- Maintain and develop the Cardiff Met SU website using HTML & CSS
- Coordinate the SU email newsletters using HTML & CSS
- To be the main point of contact with our website CMS provider
- Administration of the membership/database system attached to our website including production of membership cards
- Coordinate our social media channels
- Recruit and coordinate a team of students with skills in design, media and communications including freelance graphic designers
- Undertake some design work using the Adobe Creative Suite as well as coordinate student staff working on design projects
- To assist with the marketing of services, products and initiatives
Person Specification
Essential
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
- Experience of using HTML & CSS within a CMS
- Experience of using HTML & CSS for email design
- General IT skills including database administration
- Ability to coordinate projects with the assistance of freelance/student staff
- Be able to meet deadlines and manage own workload
- Be a strong communicator
- Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- To be creative and develop new ideas
Desirable
- A keen interest in design, media and communications
- Experience of using the Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience of using social media for marketing
- An interest in video production and photography
- Other coding experience including JavaScript
- Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities
