Ad hoc commitment, depending on the requirements of clients. A minimum of 3 months commitment, a minimum of 4 hours per month.

We are recruiting on an ongoing basis Will be informal.

Details

Tasks, which could be in person in various centres across the area, in the clients home, or on the phone/ via Skype, could include:

  • Helping clients set up and get started on their IT equipment.
  • Providing ongoing phone support and training to clients who require it.
  • Troubleshooting IT issues.
  • Helping clients use adaptive software & hardware.
  • Encouraging disabled people to feel confident in using computer technology
  • Supporting clients with basic IT skills such as using the internet

                 

Requirements of role

  • Two references
  • DBS check

Key personal attributes

  • General IT Skills
  • Reliable
  • Good listening and explaining skills
  • Good communicator
  • Willing to support choice and independence for disabled people
  • Non-judgemental, empathetic and patient

Training provided for the role.   

  • Volunteer induction training
  • Use of adaptive software & hardware (if required)

We will provide ongoing and tailored training depending on your needs.
