Conservation and Learning Disability Support Volunteer

Salary

Travel expenses from the meeting point at Cardiff central to where we are working in Cardiff will be covered by the project.

Hours

There is generally a degree of flexibility with this role but the roles available include: Weekly Monday volunteer 9am-2pm Weekly Friday volunteer 9am-2pm Occasional volunteer for one off events Other more regular opportunities may be available

Details

Volunteer tasks and activities

  • Joining in with hands on conservation work
  • Supervision and one to one mentoring of participants
  • Use of conservation equipment and tools
  • Explaining task instructions to participants
  • Motivating participants and keeping them on task
  • Taking the register
  • Working as a team to complete the day’s task

The type of conservation work carried out could include:

  • Biodiversity surveys
  • Weeding and clearing vegetation
  • Clearing invasive species
  • Hay raking
  • Coppicing
  • Litter picks
  • Footpath maintenance
