Activity and Engagement Student Interns (2 positions)

National Minimum Wage plus holiday pay

Hours

18 hours per week for 15 weeks. Office based but with some flexibility to work from home and around academic commitments.

The Welsh Government have recognised the important role that SU’s are playing in supporting students and have provided funding to recognise this commitment. Cardiff Met SU will be utilising this funding to deliver new support initiatives and campaigns over the coming months to our clubs, societies and the wider student community’

Cardiff Met SU is a student-led, independent organisation representing students and providing a diverse and inclusive range of activities and services to enrich student life. The SU is vibrant and fun place to work and we're looking for two student interns to join the team.

We're recruiting two student interns to support the range of engagement initiatives that the SU is delivering in 2021. These exciting new roles will have a positive impact on student life at Cardiff Met by assisting in the delivery of key campaigns, the SU Elections, community initiatives including sport and society opportunities and our communications and marketing.

We’re looking for positive and proactive individuals who are passionate about student life and want to make a difference in the way students engage with the SU. One position will be based on each campus:

Llandaff- Supporting student activity, key awareness campaigns and the SU Elections 2021.

Cyncoed- Supporting student groups including the SU Societies and SU Sport clubs as well as communications to students.
 

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the Students’ Union and its services;

  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under own initiative to solve problems;

  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, students and external organisations;

  • Ability to communicate confidently with students and other stakeholders;

  • Reliable with excellent time management;

  • Able to share experiences of life as Cardiff Met student.
