Who We Are

We are Cardiff Met Students’ Union (SU). We are a student membership organisation and we represent over 12,000 students at Cardiff Metropolitan University. We aim to support and empower students by representing your views and providing a range of services, events, and activities to enhance your university experience.

We’re seeking to recruit a part time SU Content Creator Intern to assist the Head of Communications and Digital Marketing on further developing and delivering our newly implemented SU Communications Strategy and SU Marketing Strategy. You’ll assist in producing content for our social media platforms, website and TV screens in the forms of videography and photography along with post production video editing. You'll work closely with the SU Digital Marketing Intern on diversifying our content creation.

 

Role Details

  • Situated within the Cardiff Met SU Cyncoed & Llandaff Offices.
  • Work with the Head of Communications and Digital Marketing focussing on producing and editing videography for social media.
  • Hourly Rate – National minimum wage inclusive of holiday pay.
  • 10 hours a week (flexible working approach around your studies).
  • Duration – The 2022-23 academic year (12th September 2022 – 16th June 2023).

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce quality videography for the social media platforms, website & TV screens.
  • Post production editing of all videography.
  • Promote awareness of all SU activity and liaise with relevant staff.
  • (e.g Awareness campaigns, SU Reps, SU Officers, Events, Societies, commercial etc.)
  • Ensuring uniform tone of content abiding by the brand guidelines.
  • Uploading videos onto YouTube, TikTok and relevant platforms.

Skills Needed

  • A passionate interest in videography, social media and marketing.
  • Proficient in Premier Pro and After Effects.
  • Taking initiative and being proactive within the role.
  • Up to date in the latest social media trends, with a creative mindset.
  • Have self-determination and strong work ethic to achieve targets set.
  • Flexible approach to varying work demands provided.
  • Positive attitude and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Graphic design (illustration, GIF and animation design desirable).

 

The successful candidate must be able to provide their own videography equipment.
