Club Background:
The Men's Rugby at Cardiff Met have a very strong programme which has grown over the last few seasons. We cater for all ability and motivation, from performance to participation. Currently the club operates 12 teams a week which includes 8 BUCS teams, a XV WRU Admiral Championship team and several WRU District teams.
The rugby club is part of the performance sports within the university and currently operates a High-Performance Group for approximately 60 players. This group competes in the BUCS Super Rugby League, WRU Admiral Championship and South Prem 1 (BUCS 2).
How do I join?
To join and be able to play for Cardiff Met RFC this year each student must:
- Pay the £40 SU membership fee (this includes competition entry, transport etc.).
Payments can be made at once via the SU website. Each student MUST pay these fees to participate in any BUCS competitions. We operate a No pay, No play policy.
Kit Packages:
Students can buy a kit package directly from the Belief Website: https://beliefsports.uk/clubs/collection/cardiff-met/
There are two package options:
- Freshers Package which contains 9 items including shorts and socks (£200.00)
- Returners Package which contains 6 items (£155.00)
If you are new to the club, please select "Freshers Package" whether you are a first year or returning student.
Please Note: There are also additional optional items which are available to buy.
All kit is bought directly from the belief website and is delivered to campus for the students to collect (times TBC)

(If membership is set at £00.00 this does not mean the club will not administer their own fees)
In order to process and activate your membership, your name, student number and any additional information you are required to provide to participate in your sport will need to be made available to the SU, committee members of the clubs you wish to join and external organisations where appropriate. Your details will be used to effectively manage your membership and communicate relevant club, fixture, social event information to you. Should you wish to have your details removed, you can contact SU Sport susport@cardiffmet.ac.uk
As a member of a Club, Society or Student Group you are required to comply to the SU's Communications Policy for Student Groups.
