Fresher Jasmine Joyce has been selected to represent Wales during the Dubai 7's competition this December. The competition takes place in Dubai from the 2nd-6th of December. The 19 year old Winger from Haverfordwest spoke to us after finding out about her selection.

How did your selection come about, have you represented Wales before? And how did you feel when you found out about your selection?

I have been involved within Welsh Squad since September 2013. I was in the Wales A Squad for the UK school games, which was held in Sheffield. From then Welsh called me up after this to train in the extended Six Nations Squad. I played in the UK school games last September 2014 in Manchester, and then carried on in the Senior Welsh Squad. I was then placed in the Dubai 7’s training Squad, then they announced the team which was going to be taking part in Dubai 7’s, and when I found out I was shocked, but very pleased.

How is your first year at Cardiff Met going so far? What do you enjoy the most about University life?

I am enjoying my time at Cardiff Met, both rugby and my course. I enjoying meeting new people, and I am very happy to be part of the Cardiff Met rugby team.

In terms of Rugby at Cardiff Met how is your season going, both personally and as a team?

The Rugby team at Cardiff met has welcomed me well, and made me feel like part of the team. I have made good friends in such a short period of time while studying at Cardiff Met. In terms of Cardiff Met as a team, we are doing outstandingly, with us being unbeaten so far.
