You will teach approximately 18 periods a week with good holidays. No teaching experience is required. You focus on spoken English: communication, confidence building, vocabulary, pronunciation and public speaking in class. You are encouraged to volunteer for extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, sport, general association.

FREE TEFL training is provided by the Ministry of Education through an online, 60 hour course. In addition, there will be a two-week teacher training camp in Beijing, Shanghai or Hunan Province where you put your theory into practice. When both TEFL and the language camp are undertaken together they are provided free of charge and this includes hotel accommodation and food at the summer camp. If you do not attend the camp then there is a charge for the TEFL training.

Do something very different for a year: learn Mandarin: explore China, make your CV even more interesting.
