NSS Results - University Experience Delights Students

The survey completed by our final year students again expressed the great student experience offered at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Have you seen the National Student Survey (NSS) results yet? The survey completed by our final year students again expressed the great student experience offered at Cardiff Metropolitan University. As new representatives for the Students’ Union (SU), we are privileged and excited to help further enhance the student experience and have a number plans in place to make this happen. We have the resources and plans to raise the current SU satisfaction score from 67%, and we can provide you with the opportunities you desire to make your time at Cardiff Metropolitan an enjoyable one.

As well as the SU score, we have also worked hard to enhance the overall university experience with our team of student reps. The student rep structure has grown in recent years in order to gain more feedback from the students about their courses, and feed this information back to the university. An example of an excellent result from each school is shown below:

2015 NSS Score (%)

BA (Hons) Art Designer: Maker (School of Art and Design) -  95%

BA (Hons) Youth and Community Work (School of Education) - 97%

BSc (Hons) Complementary Therapies - (School of Health Sciences) - 100%

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance (School of Management) - 100%

BSc (Hons) Sports Development (School of Sport) - 100%

Inevitably with the magnitude of success also come some areas that need improving. These students become a primary focus for us to ensure that their experience is improved, whilst maintaining the experience for the satisfied students. We have invested in our student representation structure in recent years to enhance the student experience by providing the students the opportunity to have their opinions voiced by fellow students. The SU have also invested in building a team of staff to promote our services such as UMAX, Advice and Support, and Jobshop. We are constantly striving to gather feedback from the students to enhance the experience whilst at Cardiff Metropolitan, offering more societies, events and campaigns.
