The club fees are for the 2023/24 academic year. Fees are set by the club and are subject to change the following academic year.

Club Background

Cardiff Met Gymnastics Club is a mixed gender club situated on the Cyncoed campus. We normally have around 20 members of all abilities creating a welcoming, close knit team. We compete in the university gymnastics cup comps throughout the year and at BUCS.

The BUCS championships are split into Grades 1, 2 and 3 for men and women also have a grade 4 competition. Grade  consists of a set vault and floor routine, aimed towards those who have just started gymnastics at a novice level. Grade 3 allows for more choice of skills and routine construction is down to the gymnast. Grade 2 is the most popular competition, consisting of a choice of 3 apparatus for women and 4 for men, catering for a wide ability of gymnasts at a competitive standard. Finally Grade 1 is aimed at elite gymnasts who compete on all pieces to a full FIG code.

Training Times

The club trains in the Syd Aaron Gymnasium which is situated on the Cyncoed campus. It is fully equipped with a sprung floor, asymmetric bars, parallel bars, high bar plus vault and rings into a foam pit. We also get the chance travel to Cardiff Central Youth Club* biweekly to train in a bigger gym with extra equipment .

Mon: 7-10 pm

Wed: 12:00am-4:00 pm

Fri: 7:30-10 pm

Social

There are also many opportunities to attend some fantastic and varied socials. Every year the club holds a welcome social, with a different theme each year. Past socials have included “Las Vegas”, “I’m a Celebrity” and “Circus” themes, which have all provided a fun and memorable experience for everyone.

In order to process and activate your membership, your name, student number and any additional information you are required to provide to participate in your sport will need to be made available to the SU, committee members of the clubs you wish to join and external organisations where appropriate. Your details will be used to effectively manage your membership and communicate relevant club, fixture, social event information to you.
