Vacancy for Senior Campus Warden
at Plas Gwyn & Cyncoed Halls 2018-19
Closing Date: 25th May 2018 Interviews: During first week of June 2018
We are looking for new Senior Campus Wardens, one at Plas Gwyn Halls and one at Cyncoed Halls. The positions are voluntary and for period 15th August 2018 to 15th August 2019. The main responsibility is to assist the Halls Manager in the effective management of the Halls of Residence and the provision of the pastoral care for students out of hours.
The duties include:-
Manage and motivate a Team of 7-13 Wardens
Organising and facilitating Warden Training Week
Assist in upholding good order and discipline
Able to deal with conflict and manage difficult situations (regarding resident behaviour)
Assist to ensure Health & Safety procedures are adhered to
Be on call as part of Duty Managers rota
Administration of rota and meetings
Dealing with resident/warden problems
Live-in on campus
We are looking for:
Staff/Student within the University, a responsible outlook, excellent organisational and communication skills, both oral and written, to have the ability to be authoritive and deal with discipline issues. Assist with fire/medical/incident emergencies. Be flexible, a good listener and approachable.
This position is a very important role within the Residences Department. It is also very rewarding and you will gain valuable experience in managing and dealing with young people. This is a Voluntary position, not paid. You are provided with a furnished one bedroom flat at Plas Gwyn Campus, free of charge (incl of all bills & internet) for the duration of the role or a self contained flat at Cyncoed, again free of charge (incl of all bills & internet).
