Cardiff Met golf team is affiliated with Cardiff golf club in Cyncoed, just a few minutes from Cyncoed Campus. It is open to both Male and Female members, and an active playing handicap is required.
The Sports clubs, supported by Cardiff Met Students’ Union, are co-ordinated through the SU Sport and administered by a full time administrator. This includes all British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) and National League sport.
Cardiff Met recruits a great deal of sporting talent every year and we aim to provide a quality service for our sports people. We fund the provision of coaching and provide the excellent sports facilities that you will find on the Cyncoed site. Here we have an Internatioal indoor athletics track, international tennis centre, astro-turf multi-purpose pitch, football and rugby pitches and state-of-the-art gymnasium. At the Llandaff site, a gymnasium is situated in the amenities block. Several of our sports benefit from being Focus Sports and we have a successful scholarship programme which allows successful athletes to receive additional financial support. Details on these can be found on the respective pages.
We fund all students attending BUCS events, including weekly transport, necessary accommodation and hospitality. In addition we also subsidise all our Clubs' National League events. On top of this, we organise an annual Sports Awards event where we recognise the achievements of all of our clubs and athletes throughout the year.
SU Sport is great to be a part of and is continually growing from year to year with more sports, individuals and teams being entered into competitions. If you want to get involved or hear more, become a member or come into the SU Offices on Cycoed Campus and ask for the SU Sport Officer!
