About Us

We welcome everyone of all abilities – from complete novices to professional lifters.

At Cardiff Met Weightlifting, we are dedicated to rebuilding our BUCS glory days into a larger, inclusive, and supportive community. Whether you aim to master Olympic lifts (Snatch and Clean & Jerk),improve your physical athletic performance, or join a welcoming team, we are here to support your journey. We are pursuing registration as a British Weight Lifting (BWL) Affiliated Club, offering benefits such as discounted BWL memberships and competition entries. Led by Head Coach Taylor Probets (BWL Level 2) and supported by Co-Presidents Josiah Kwok (BWL Level 2, UKSCA ASCT) and Olivia Roderick (BWL Level 1), who assist with coaching, we train at the Eleiko-equipped SCRaM gym in the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC), Cyncoed Campus.
