Quiet Time: 10:30am - 11:00am
(No music, less people, for our students who prefer a more chilled Fayre experience.)

The Cardiff Met SU Freshers’ Fayre is a rite of passage for every new attendee of Cardiff Met! Taking place on Wednesday 25th September within NIAC on the Cyncoed Campus it is certainly one of the most popular events on the Fresher’s Calendar!

It will be your first chance to meet with all first year and returning students attending Cardiff Met and the perfect opportunity to find out about all that your Students’ Union and University has to offer!

Our Freshers’ Fayre is the best way for you to discover all of the amazing SU Sport clubs & SU Societies that you can join, as well as loads more opportunities we have available for you!

Then of course there are the freebies – loads of freebies! With firm favourites such as Domino‘s Pizza attending, you can guarantee you’re going to leave the fayre with your pockets and stomachs full of goodies and plenty of savings for the year ahead!

Your Students' Union

We are Cardiff Met SU and so are you! As a Cardiff Met student, you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union (SU) so you have full access to everything we have to offer. Our aim is to represent your views and provide you with lots of opportunities to make the most of your time at Cardiff Met.

You are at the heart of everything we do, from telling us what you want us to do for you through our SU Representation structure or becoming a becoming a SU Rep for your course, to joining a SU Society or SU Sport club. From completing the Cardiff Met Award to joining a volunteering project. From attending our events such as Varsity, Campus Canines, pub quizzes and much more, we believe that there is something for everyone here at the SU.

Keep an eye out later in the summer for your Essential Freshers’ Guide which will give you even more information on life at Cardiff Met and how to get involved in your Students’ Union, including the Freshers’ Fayre in September.

We want you to have the best student experience possible here at Cardiff Met, because we are Cardiff Met SU and so are you!

Get Involved

There's more to Freshers than just the events! Make sure you check out our links below to see how to get involved with all aspects of Freshers including our SU Sport, SU Societies, Representation and Employability options.

SU Sport

We have a diverse range of Competitive Sports here at Cardiff Met, competing in some of the highest BUCS leagues whilst some also represent Cardiff Met in European, National, and Local league competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Welsh Premier Leagues, WBBL, and the WRU Championship to name a few.

SU Societies

We have a diverse range of societies here at Cardiff Met, and if you don’t see one that takes your fancy it’s really easy to set up a new one. Fay is here to help support you in setting up and running your very own society, whether that’s finding venues, booking trips, arranging guest speakers or helping you to promote societies events and campaigns.

The Student Sabbatical Officers are elected by students to represent your academic interests at the very top level. They act as the key link to the University Vice Chancellor, and Pro Vice Chancellor Student Experience as well as other key stakeholders.

We have multiple employability opportunities, which you can get involved in! With multiple volunteering options, free workshops, the jobshop to help you find part time employment and The Cardiff Met Award, we have you covered. All aimed to give your career a head start alongside your studies!
