Details

Cardiff Met Student’ Union are currently recruiting for a Student Lead volunteer to undertake the responsibility of working with us and the various projects that we run with our external volunteering partners. These external partners range from organisations such as SVC, NewLink, South Wales Greyhound Trust, Amelia Trust and Cancer Research Wales. We are also looking to plan our first “Jail Break” event later this year and you will be integral to the development of this project too.

You are going to be working very closely with the Student’ Union staff and officers developing the strategy to grow the number of student volunteers on these various projects as well as adopting a marketing/ administrative role. You must be proactive and comfortable speaking to our student population to be successful in the role but, please be assured no day will be the same!

Being a Lead Volunteer with Student’ Union gives you that something extra to add to your CV and it is a great way to gain and practise both your hard and soft skills that employers look for.  You’ve chosen to volunteer for a reason, though, and we want to make sure that you get the most out of the year as possible, so get stuck in and enjoy yourself on the volunteering projects too!

In return we offer the following training for free, Health & Safety, First Aid, COSH, Food Allergy Awareness as well as a workshop focused on managing and motivating teams. We would expect a place on the Cardiff Met award and offer free branded Student’ Union Clothing.

We expect the Student Lead Volunteer to commit to the role for the academic year averaging anything from 1 to 4 hours maximum a week during term time ideally on a Tuesday at our Llandaff campus.

Please send your CV and covering emailing detailing your interest in this opportunity.

Interviews will commence w/c 18th September.
