On this unique and amazing summer program, participants will spend their summer working and living on the exclusive Santa Catalina Island, based 26 miles off the coast of L.A, California. This leading U.S Hospitality Company will provide you with sought after work experience, and a set of transferrable skills relevant to any future career. With all this, you get to spend your summer living with like-minded people and enjoying everything the island has to offer, as well as being located close to all of the California attractions. * This is a full-time, fully paid summer placement during your summer break from university. You can also participate on this program immediately following the completion of your final year of studies.
* For the program for Summer 2018, we have positions in the following roles: Retail, Hotel Front Desk, Food and Beverage Servers/Barista
* This island attracts a wide range of wealthy, high-end clients. High levels of guest service will therefore be expected from all participants on this program.
* All positions are paid a wage of $10.00 per hour, with the opportunity to earn tips. Participants are guaranteed a minimum of 32 hours per week. It is likely you will work anywhere between 35-45 hours per week, typically spread across 5 days. Participants are paid once every 2 weeks during the program.
* Housing is pre-arranged for the program. Participants will be placed in fully-furnished housing, located within walking distance to all the working locations. Participants will share with either one or two other participants on the same program.
* Housing for this program is charged at $100.00 per week. This is heavily discounted, and is fully inclusive of bills and wi-fi. Rent will be automatically deducted from payroll.
* Participants on this program are entitled to enjoy all of the leisure activities that are available to guests on the island during their time off. Participants are also to entitled to great discounts across the island, including merchandise and food and beverage.
* Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an additional 30 days to travel the U.S for tourism if you wish. This is part of the J1 Visa.
To be eligible for this program for Summer 2018, you must meet the following criteria:
* Be at least 18 years of age
* Be enrolled at a U.K university full-time for the academic year 2017-2018, studying at either at Foundation or Undergraduate level
* Students can be from any course discipline
* Possess a valid passport
* Be available for the full program dates: Saturday 9 June 2018 – Saturday 15 September 2018
