SU Environmental Part-Time Officer

Salary

Please note the successful candidate will not hold employee status with the Students' Union but will receive a bursary as award for undertaking this representative position. Bursary TBC.

Details

Cardiff Met Students’ Union is looking for a proactive and passionate student with an interest in the environment and sustainability to develop and lead on new ideas and projects within the SU. They will be part of the team of Part-Time Officers reporting to the SU President and working closely with the Vice President, School Reps and SU staff.

This Environmental Officer will explore the Students’ Union environmental footprint and work on how the SU can become more sustainable ensuring that any initiatives that are implemented have longevity. This officer will support the University with their sustainability work alongside the Environmental Champions lead volunteer at Cardiff Digs and the Environmental Performance Manager at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Responsibilities:

  • You will play a key role in the Students’ Unions work around the environment and sustainability, developing and leading on projects and campaigns to engage other students
  • By building on positive working relationships with University departments you will support University initiatives and explore opportunities to work together
  • Form positive working relationships with student representatives making effective use of the student rep structure to ensure all students are represented and well informed on issues relating to the environment
