2020 has be a tough year for most older people! Could you help make a difference to an over 75's life in 2021?
Our 'Active Together Groups' aim to get over 75's re-engaged with their communities while taking part in light activity. As you can imagine these monthly outings are the highlight of the month for many of our older guests and, for some, it is the only time they leave their house for a social occasion.
As a volunteer driver you will be picking up older people from their homes and returning them home safely on a monthly basis.
Role Pointers:
· Driving older guests using your own car to the active together group venue and returning them home again after the activity.
· Staying at the group to help with activities, conversation and help serve refreshments.
· Liaising with the group coordinator to confirm which older guests you will pick up.
· Adhere to current social distancing guidance and ensure people are safe when attending groups.
As a valued volunteer, you will receive training, support, and regular communications from the charity. This is a fulfilling and enjoyable role which will enable you to develop your communication skills and gain valuable experience with a national charity and, most importantly, make a real difference to the lives of lonely older people. Unfortunately, we are unable to pay for your travel expenses.
