Who We Are:
Cardiff Met Students’ Union (SU) is a student membership organisation that represents over 12,000 students. We aim to support and empower our students by representing their views and providing a range of services, events, and activities to enhance the university experience.
Cardiff Met SU is seeking to recruit a full time SU Sport Coordinator to join the team at the SU. We are passionate about making our teams representative of the students we support and the communities we operate within, and we welcome applications from candidates from typically underrepresented backgrounds.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivery
- Work with the SU Sport team to deliver a high standard sporting experience as part of a positive student experience.
- Coordinate & organise committee training, workshops, and courses.
- Coordinate SU Sport club involvement for the SU Freshers’ Fayre event.
- Support the organisation of Varsity and SU Sports Award events, as well as other one-off SU Sport events.
Membership Management
- Work with the club committees to collect and monitor SU Sport membership and individual club membership data.
- Provide analytics, support, and advice on all areas of SU Sport to encourage greater member involvement in sport, especially from underrepresented groups.
Social Media and Website
- Ensure the SU website and other web-based and physical resources dedicated to sport are up to date, accurate and relevant to students.
- Support the SU Sport Social Media Intern to build engagement and develop the sense of belonging amongst the membership.
- Monitor and reply to inbound messages on social media.
- Assisting in developing the SU Sport brand and monitoring online content from clubs.
Administrative
- Work closely with the University’s Cardiff Met Sport team to coordinate all SU Sport club training facility bookings.
- Liaise with SU Sport Manager and clubs on logistics, transport, accommodation, and all other relevant arrangements.
- Support the department in all administrative requirements including communicating over the telephone, email, and face to face enquiries.
- To undertake other tasks and responsibilities, compatible with the nature of the post, as required by the SU Sport Manager.
Kit and Equipment
- Work with the SU Sport Manager to ensure appropriate funds are available for the kit and equipment orders.
- Work with the club kit secretaries and the SU’s kit provider to develop playing kit designs and leisurewear packages.
- Process kit orders with the SU’s finance department and kit provider, using the leisurewear ordering forms, collate and cross check orders before processing with the SU’s finance department.
- Maintain accurate records of all kit orders, deliveries, invoice and associated purchase orders.
- Maintain regular contact with suppliers to ensure orders are received in a timely manner.
Health and Safety
- Manage the maintenance of the SU minibuses and ensure insurance cover is in place for all hired vehicles.
- Ensure all drivers are insured to drive the SU vehicles and process any insurance claims.
- Work with the SU Sport Intern to oversee and manage club risk assessments.
