Location: Based in The Cardiff Story Museum, The Old Library, The Hayes, Cardiff. CF10 1BH
Purpose of role:
The Cardiff Story Museum is an exciting new museum that tells the story of Wales’ capital city through the eyes of its people, bringing Cardiff’s past to life. It celebrates, interprets and preserves Cardiff’s history, for both residents and visitors to the city.
The Museum needs volunteers to help us welcome visitors and make sure they have an enjoyable, fun and safe time.
Summary of role:

To work with the Front of House Team and assist with the day to day running of the Museum ensuring excellent customer care and acting as a friendly face to both staff and visitors.

Provide visitors with assistance and information about the site and its displays and demonstrate working and interactive exhibits to agreed procedures

Undertake welcoming duties including greeting individuals and groups.

Patrol areas to protect the building and its environs, collections, and equipment from damage, vandalism theft, anti-social behaviour and fire

Everyone who works and volunteers with the Cardiff Story Museum:

Works within the guidelines of the Volunteer Policy and related organisational policies and procedures (e.g. Health and Safety, Equalities, Access, Child Protection, etc.)

Ensures the health and safety of visitors, staff and volunteers by following designated procedures.

Acts as a representative and ambassador for The Cardiff Story Museum.

All work undertaken and produced by volunteers for and on behalf of The Cardiff Story Museum and Cardiff Council will remain the copyright of the Museum.
