P1 Marine Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to fundraise for the charity on the 28th and 29th August at the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea event in Cardiff.
P1 Marine Foundation is an international UK registered charity established in September 2010. Our mission is raise awareness of the marine and coastal environment and its threats through education and conservation.
We are looking for someone who is interested in raising awareness about the marine environment at the P1 Welsh Grand Prix of the Sea: www.p1superstock.co.uk/Race-info/Cardiff/2016/71606
The fundraising activity would entail dressing up as a shark mascot and engaging with the public to raise funds for our programmes. As the shark suit is a little heavy, it may be more suitable for someone who is relatively fit and healthy.
Uniform:
A shark mascot suit will be provided on arrival to the P1 event on Sunday 28th August at 10am.
Supervisor:
Sabrina Taseer, Projects Manager, P1 Marine Foundation
Training:
Brief training will be provided on arrival
Main tasks:
1. Be friendly, polite and professional with all members of the public and at all times
2. To engage with the public as Sammy the shark to raise the positive profile of the Foundation
3. Ensure that all donations received are recorded appropriately
4. To work anonymously as Sammy the shark to maintain the mascot’s profile rather than a personal profile
5. To operate within all of P1 Marine Foundation relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety, fire, equal opportunities, confidentiality and Core Values
Role hours:
Sunday 28th August – 10am to 4pm
Monday 29th August – 10am to 4pm
Job fee:
£150 for weekend expenses
