Last week saw over 400 student athletes and 1,000 spectators from Cardiff Met travel to the University of Bath, as we competed in a full day of 27 fixtures for our 10th annual Varsity.

Last week saw over 400 student athletes and 1,000 spectators from Cardiff Met travel to the University of Bath, as we competed in a full day of 27 fixtures for our 10th annual Varsity.
Our teams competed and fought to get some huge wins on the day, as Men’s Futsal set the tone, coming back from a 2-5 deficit at the half, to win 9-7. Our Basketball club swept the series convincingly, as our Women’s Team won 75-45, our Men’s Team won 89-63 and our Wheelchair Basketball Team won 66-7.
Elsewhere, Men’s Hockey got the big 3-1 win, whilst Women’s Rugby dominated with a 49-19 win. Men’s football also edged a hard-fought win after drawing in regulation 1-1 and winning on penalties.
Despite a highly competitive day, the University of Bath came out on top with an overall score of 84-46 as they reclaim the Varsity trophy.
We now look ahead with anticipation to next year, as Varsity returns to Cyncoed Campus. #ArchersAssemble.
