About Us
Welcome to Cardiff Metropolitan's Aero Society! We are the university's exclusive aviation and aerospace society representing both the aviation management cohort and all other aerospace and aviation enthusiasts across the university who are interested in fast jets, busy airports, loud jet engines and everything else. The society currently has future pilots, flight attendants, managers, engineers, air traffic controllers, royal air force cadets and many more budding individuals. 👥
Our society will meet once a month for activities centred around keeping the love for aviation alive, with events** like:
- Movie and Documentary Nights
- Pizza & Present
- Debate Competitions/Quizzes
- Airfield Visits & Airplane Spotting Trips (TBC)
- Royal Aeronautical Society Event visits (TBC)
- Guest Speaker Panels from active aviation professionals (TBC)
Our society functions on 3 main values:
1. To provide a welcoming social space for members to speak their heart out about their diverse interests/passions in aviation, and by doing so, a chance to informally learn from each other as a community.
2. To have events that are both fun and instil a sense of curiosity amongst members about the industry's operations.
3. To create a close knit community of friends who can come together to celebrate their common interest for aviation and aerospace.
Anyone with a fascination for aviation is welcome! We hope to have a diverse circle of individuals with varying interests in aviation operations. Or, if you're simply awe-struck by the sound of an airplane over your head, come and join us anyway! ✈️🙋🏼♂️
Membership Fee (entire year): £5
Event Fee (to attend individual society events): £5.50
