Social Players

This allows members of Cardiff Met University to come along and play socially and have the chance to meet people, pick up a new sport or enjoy improving their own racket skills. This session is a range of organised group activities and free court time to play against others.

This session is Tuesdays from 8:00-10:00, held in the archers arena on the Cyncoed Campus- this session is accessible to anyone who holds a social, recreational or BUCS Membership.

Recreational

The recreational side of the club provides an environment where players can come along and enjoy playing badminton matches at a faster tempo. Suitable for players wanting to 'spar' and play faster harder matches. Playing with New Feathered shuttle cocks; this is the perfect session for those wanting to apply coaching to sessions/ improve rapidly by playing players better than yourself. There is also the option for coaching with the BUCS team- sharing their own coaching experience and knowledge to improve your game. This session fits in between the social and BUCS/ Performance membership.

This session is on Fridays from 8:30-10:00, held in the archers arena on the Cyncoed Campus- this session is accessible to anyone who holds a recreational or BUCS Membership.

BUCS team/ Performance players

With a BUCS team sitting in the western Tier 2, The BUCS league runs each year with teams of 6. Currently, we have one men's team; however, in the 23-24 season, we have hopes of getting a women's and men's B team going due to the success of last year and fresher's fayre. The top 2 singles players and two doubles pairs can enter the BUCS nationals tournament towards the end of the academic year.

This session is for players serious about improving/ playing for the uni team- led by a student coach with a Level 2 qualification and around 4 years experience in coaching both beginners and, more importantly, performance players in the Devon/ Cardiff Region. This membership gives you access to these coaching sessions and lets you play competitively in the weekly BUCS League, Cup playoffs and BUCS nationals.

This session is on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30, held in the Archers arena on the Cyncoed Campus- this session is accessible to anyone who holds a BUCS Membership- this session is invited only.
