Weightlifting

The club fees are for the 2023/24 academic year. Fees are set by the club and are subject to change the following academic year.

First and foremost this club offers the opportunity for anyone with an interest to learn how to perform the Olympic lifts (the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk) under qualified coaches. While the club focuses primarily on performing these lifts for the sake of the sport, we happily welcome athletes who are looking to improve their performance in other sports or even those with a passing interest who just want to keep fit and healthy.

Cardiff Met Weightlifting had two gold medalists at BUCS in 2023 and 7 competing athletes. We hope to build on this over the coming year.

We train at the SCRAM gym in NIAC which consists of 14 platforms and squat racks, each outfitted with Eleiko bars and plates.

Everyone is welcome to come along - new to weightlifting or experienced!

In order to process and activate your membership, your name, student number and any additional information you are required to provide to participate in your sport will need to be made available to the SU, committee members of the clubs you wish to join and external organisations where appropriate. Your details will be used to effectively manage your membership and communicate relevant club, fixture, social event information to you.
