Weightlifting

The club fees are for the 2019/20 academic year. Fees are set by the club and are subject to change the following academic year.

First and foremost this club offers the opportunity for anyone with an interest to learn how to perform the Olympic lifts (the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk) under qualified coaches. While the club focuses primarily on performing these lifts for the sake of the sport, we happily welcome athletes who are looking to improve their performance in other sports or even those with a passing interest who just want to keep fit and healthy.

Cardiff Met Weightlifting took 2nd place overall at the British University and College Championships in the 18/19 academic year with a team considerably smaller than most of the top universities. This year we're looking to cement our position as one of the top university weightlifting clubs in the UK.

We train at the Strength & Power gym in NIAC which consists of 14 platforms and squat racks, each outfitted with Eleiko bars and plates.

Everyone is welcome to come along - new to weightlifting or experienced!

Training days:

Monday 8-10pm

Wednesday 8-10pm

Friday 6-9pm
