The Cardiff Met name has been synonymous with excellence in Women's Football. It also boasts several current and ex-international players and the club has qualified for the prestigious UEFA Champions' League numerous times.

The Women's Football Club is one of the Cardiff Met Focus Sports who have been identified as a high performance club and under the guidance of the Performance Director aim to achieve the very highest standards. Focus Sports benefit from additional funding which includes a number of funded gym memberships and access to all sports facilities for focus athletes, strength and conditioning, nutritional support, discounted physiotherapy and performance analysis.

At Cardiff Met, we are constantly striving to take our players to the next level, whether that is competing within the BUCS structure or within national or international competitions or leagues. Cardiff Met has a strong football playing tradition and aims to provide players with a professional football development experience resulting in students graduating from Cardiff Met as better players. We employ a range of coaching and sports science experts who deliver a meticulously planned training and development programme that caters for the physical, mental and technical needs of our players. Consequently, we attract and produce players of Women's Super League, international and national competition standard, many of which have gained honours playing for their country at youth and senior levels.
