We support all Cardiff Met students by offering projects to get involved with in our growing city. With our projects, we aim to increase awareness of local community issues, with you working alongside having a positive impact. It’s a real chance to meet new and likeminded people and to work alongside them on these projects. There is always something to get involved with in, whether short-term or long-term, so please call in to the SU offices in Llandaff or Cyncoed to find out more.

The aim of the sessions are to help the refugees integrate into British society and to run an informal and basic English conversation club for those at the centre who wish to improve their English. The project would work as part of the national STAR (Student Action for Refugees) network of student groups working to improve the lives of refugees living in the U.K.
The project runs every Tuesday in term time from 18:00-20:00 at Oasis Cardiff.

Cardiff Met Community garden
Cardiff Met’s brand new community gardens project needs you!
If you’re interested in gardening, getting involved in sustainable and environmental projects, or just want an excuse to meet new people and spend some time outside, then the Cardiff Met Community Garden might just be the thing for you.
The community gardens project is open to all staff and students and will see existing ‘plantable’ on-campus areas transformed into productive gardens. The team leading the project is looking for people to help nurture both a physic garden and a vegetable garden, and develop new and exciting projects based on the garden and its products.
The project is looking for student reps to join the tram managing the garden as well as general volunteers. To find out more about the project, or to join the mailing list, please contact Jen Evans on email@example.com. You can also follow the project on Twitter: @CMetGardens
Sport cardiff VSB
The Sport Cardiff VSB is an online volunteer bureau making volunteer opportunities in sport as accessible as possible.
Coordinated by Sport Cardiff — a partnership between Cardiff Metropolitan University, the City of Cardiff Council, and Sport Wales – the VSB is a legacy of the London 2012 Games and links those who want to volunteer with organisations wanting volunteers.
Cardiff’s vision is to be a world-class Capital for sport. This cannot be achieved without the dedication, energy, and skills of a volunteer workforce making sport tick right through from the grass-roots to major events.
If you’re thinking about volunteering then getting involved has never been easier – now you can search a wide range of voluntary opportunities in sport across Cardiff, and sign-up at the click of a button! To get involved simply register with the Sport Cardiff VSB today and click here: https://sport-cardiff-vsb.com/index.htm
If you would like to volunteer but don't think you have time to make a regular commitment then one-off projects could be more suited to you. In the past, we have done a beach clean and transformed a primary school outdoor area.
