Affiliations

Cardiff Met Students' Union is affiliated with several external bodies which help us effectively carry out our work on behalf of the student body.

ACUI (Association of College Unions International)

Founded in 1914, ACUI is a non-profit educational organization that brings together college union and student activity professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries. Its members work on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions, and at large and small schools. They are students and administrators whose mission is to build campus community. ACUI enriches them all through education, advocacy, and the delivery of services.

BUCS (British Universities and College Sport)

BUCS is the national governing body which oversees sport within the UK's Higher Education. Through BUCS, students from member institutions compete in a variety of sports in competitions including league, cup and championship fixtures.

Affiliation to BUCS and other sport-specific governing bodies is a mandatory requirement for any teams competing in BUCS. Affiliation allows the individuals/teams concerned to be adequately insured, ensures that competition standards and rules & regulations are standardised, legally protects individuals competing and gains them access to opportunities, funding and advice.

NASES (National Association of Student Employment Services)

The National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES) is the National representative body to support Student Employment Services, with over 110 university/college members. Established in July 1999, it aims to facilitate the continuing development of the sector, encourage interaction between practitioners, share best practice and represent its membership on a national level. NASES has arisen from the desire of practitioners to share expertise, provide mutual support and participate in national agendas.
