cost of living

We know you have experienced a huge rise in the cost of living, and as a result, many students are struggling with it. To support students, your Students' Union has worked with the university to implement changes that will help you to tackle this issue.

A cost-of-living working group was set up, with your sabbatical officers and university representatives. Here, we pushed for changes to support students through the introduction of new cost-of-living measures, and better communication to students around existing measures that were in place.

With these changes, your SU has been pushing hard to ease the burden for student. We have achieved some good wins, and we plan to keep pushing the university to do more. Current changes we have achieved are below.

If you have any feedback or questions regadring this, or have suggestions for further changes we can push for, please contact our SU Representation Structure.

For more information on what your SU and the University are doing to help tackle the Cost of Living, including free shower facilities, 24/7 heated spaces in the learning centres, and ways study costs have been reduced, check out the Met Central cost-of-living webpage.
