JOB DESCRIPTION

Where: Cardiff Met Students' Union

Term: 1st August 2015 – 31st July 2016

How: The successful candidate will be selected as part of an election process

Salary: £16,400

Annual Leave: 20 days, plus bank holidays

This is an exciting opportunity for any current student who is at Cardiff Met. You will be the figure head of Cardiff Met Students’ Union following the election process.

You will be responsible for leading the representation structure of the Students’ Union. You will have a Vice President and a School Rep from each School to assist and support you.

You will be the main ambassador and external spokesperson for Cardiff Met Students’ Union. You will work closely with your Vice President, School Rep team and the Union’s senior management team building up to and delivering the Union’s strategic plan and values.

This role is extremely rewarding and provides you with extensive experience to add to your CV, it is lots of fun to.

Responsibilities

Be the head spokesperson for Cardiff Met Students’ Union
Represent the students’ views and values of the University population
Responsible for financial position and performance of the Students’ Union
Encourage student involvement with the Students’ Union
To enhance the student experience and engagement along with representing the views of the students’ at key meetings with senior members of the University and external stakeholders, such as presenting to the Board of Governors.
This is an exciting and diverse role which will provide you will many additional skills.

Skills and Attributes required

Good interpersonal & communication skills including speaking to large audience
A team player, prepared to listen and understand
Ability to deliver the Students’ Union experience and actively engage with fellow students to understand the needs of the current student
Ability and confidence to express other students’ opinions
