Details

Cardiff Met Students’ Union is working in partnership with Drinkaware and the South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner to continue a new initiative that will provide a safe and supportive night-time environment at our affiliated city centre club nights.

As a member of The Drinkaware Club Crew you will be specially trained to work in two nightclubs in Cardiff (Pryzm and Soda on our affiliated nights) to encourage a safe night-time environment and to ensure that students feel safe.

Working in pairs, you will have a presence in the venue throughout the night, talking to students at the start of the evening when a queue is forming, supporting students who may be vulnerable and ensuring students leave safely after the venue has closed.

All members of the Club Crew will receive full training on how to provide support and promoting a positive atmosphere. Members of the Crew will also have a kit bag with items such as bottled water and hand sanitiser.

For this role, you should be:

•             Socially confident and able to chat with guests – assertive enough to encourage positive behaviour.

•             Open-minded and non-judgemental with good listening skills.

•             Pro-active and able to work on your own initiative in addition to with other staff at night-time venues.

•             Resilient enough to cope with demanding situations.

•             Able to keep calm in challenging situations.

•             Keen to attend structured training.

You must be a current Cardiff Met Student to apply

To apply please email Dave Jackson at djackson@cardiffmet.ac.uk with a CV and cover letter explaining why you would be suitable for this role. NB. The successful applicants must be available to take part in a training session on Tuesday September 19th.
