NUS Information

Currently the Students’ Union is subscribed to the charity branch of NUS. This referendum is about joining NUS UK which is the political branch of NUS, which would enable Cardiff Met SU members the opportunity to influence NUS policy and their behaviours when representing students. The charity side provides the SU with development, research and officer support.

The following serves to inform members on the impact related to affiliating with the NUS. This is to ensure you can make an informed decision and is not the SU’s effort to reinforce a decision either way. It is up to members to form “YES” or “NO” campaigns – information on which can be found here.

The following is provided by NUS to outline their services:

  • Campaign groups will have £50 available to go towards campaign expenses.

  • Any student campaigning within a formal group will be assumed to of read the rules and guidance's provided. Ignorance will not be accepted as an excuse in the event of rule breaches.
