SU Society Adoption 2026/27 Guidance

You may be thinking "how is this not already a society?!" Well there's a chance it may have been previously. Below is a list of all the societies that have been placed in a dormant state from the 2025/26 Academic Year.

If you think that one of these societies could benefit with some TLC to revive it, you can Adopt the society!

To be ratified for 2026/27 term, Societies up for Adoption need 10 student members, three of whom will step forward as the three core Committee members: President/Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.

If the Adoptive Society meets these requirements, their Starter Form will be taken to the next student forum. Here, our student officers will vote on whether to re-ratify the Society.  

Once the society has been approved, you will have access to any resources left by previous iterations of the society, including their society funds! 

Once you have 10 students interested, please get in touch via email at societies@cardiffmet.ac.uk, or drop in to one of our offices and we'll get the relevant forms for you to fill in.
