General Election 2017: Register to Vote Now

GE17

This week, the Prime Minister, Theresa May, announced a 'snap' election to be held on the 8th of June

This leaves only 7 weeks before the country will go to the polls.

The result of the poll will affect your future in many ways so it's important that you make your vote count!

How do I register?

You can vote if you are aged over 18 on the day of the election but you must register beforehand. All you need to do is complete a straightforward online form:

gov.uk/register-to-vote

The deadline to register is midnight on the 22nd of May so make sure you register before it's too late.

Do I register with my term-time address or my permanent home address?

You can be registered at both addresses but you can only cast your vote once in one constituency.

What if I'm too busy to vote on the day?

You can apply for a postal vote. Full details on how to do this can be found here.
