SU Summer Elections

The SU Summer elections are your opportunity to become part of the SU Fourm (School reps and Student Officers). These roles undertake work to make student life better - wether this is for your school or for a specific student group. These roles are voluntary but they do recieve a £100 bursary a month in recognition of their service. 

You must be studying with cardiff met during the academic year 26/27 in order to take on this role, and if applying for a school rep position be studying within that school. IF applying for a Student Officer position you must self identify within that. 

BIG NEWS! A new Full-Time Role is up for nomination!

Following the motion you voted on at the AGM. The University have agreed to fund a further full-time officer position to come into role 1st July 2026. This mean in the upcomming academic year there will be 3 full-time officers undertaking work on your behalf and ensuring student life is the best it can be. 

This third role will be the President of Experience and Inclusion. Who will be the lead officer for ensuring you have every opportunity to develop your professional skillsets, that the SU is reflective of student needs, and that underrepresented voices are heard in university decision making.

From Monday the 6th April 2026, you will be able to nominate yourself to Lead Cardiff Met via Cardiffmetsu.com/elections.   

Every year, students elect students candidates to take on a full-time paid role, where they can make positive changes for the Cardiff Met University experience, build professional skills and earn upwards of £22,900 during your year in post.

School Reps & Student Officers are also elected by our members - and will deliver on campaigns and work to enhance your student experience. These are part-time voluntary positions which recieved a £100 bursary monthly in recognition of their service.  

Regardless of your experience, our mission as an SU is to equip you with the skills and support you need to achieve your goals. 

We offer training on how to write a manifesto and provide an overview of what the roles entail – check out the dates of these training sessions at cardiffmetsu.com/elections
