Lead Reps

The Lead Rep represents a year group or department within their school. They support the School Rep to manage the team of reps to ensure effective student representation.

Their role is to:

• Support the School Rep to recruit, manage and engage a team of student reps within their school
• Ensure the student voice is being effectively represented at year/department level within the school
• Represent the views of their peers at year/department level by gathering feedback and passing this on to relevant staff/committees or reps
• Attend relevant committees to raise feedback and share the student view
• Feed back to students and reps on ideas and issues raised
• Act as an ambassador for the SU
• Make best use of the available resources to update students, the School Rep and student rep team on rep activity and student feedback (eg. Attending meetings, social media, SU website, noticeboards)
• Maintain a good knowledge of SU and University services in order to refer students for specialist advice and support
