We have a diverse range of societies here at Cardiff Met, and if you don’t see one that takes your fancy it’s really easy to set up a new one. Danielle is here to help support you in setting up and running your very own society, whether that’s finding venues, booking trips, arranging guest speakers or helping you to promote societies events and campaigns.

Whether you’re a new or returning student, societies are a great opportunity to try something different, meet up with friends and enhance your university experience. We have over 50 societies to choose from and there’s no limit on how many you can join! Whether you’re interested in sports, arts and crafts or faith, there is something for everyone. We also have many societies that compliment your academic studies.
Before you can join any of our amazing Societies, there is now a £5 Societies Membership fee per society. This £5 fee goes to support the work of all Societies and you only need to pay once a year!

Starting a new society is easy. All you need is an idea, people who are keen to get involved and time to invest to develop and grow the society.

If you would like to arrange for an external guest speaker or organisation to come onto campus, then you must fill in the guest speaker form 30 days before your event. In order to protect our students from harmful groups and comply with government counter-terrorism legislation, Cardiff Metropolitan University checks all external groups and speakers coming onto our campuses.
